It is in fact a tension structure: the uprights consist of pairs of wooden or aluminum slats hinged together at both ends, which are tensioned by the four shelves. The result is a light structure with remarkable overall solidity and stability, extremely easy and quick to assemble, requiring only eight screws, and designed for very compact packaging.
