Designing Mammamia was first and foremost an act of homage. When designing a chair, the reference to the masters is inevitably unavoidable, and it felt appropriate to celebrate the Eames Plastic Side Chair with a project that would echo its elegance and proportions while introducing a substantial element of innovation such as the use of die cast aluminum. This made it possible to reduce the shell thickness to extreme sections of only 4 mm and at the same time achieve a level of rigidity and solidity that allowed the use of long, slender and tapered steel legs, enhancing the overall lightness and eliminating the need for any structural frame or truss.
The chair becomes a line, a slender and almost two dimensional stroke, at once extremely solid and exceptionally comfortable.

Glossy or matte, refined or with a strong character, it can be enriched with delicate leaves in gold, silver or copper, hand polished in the mirror finish version, dressed in finishes with an industrial flavor such as bronze or concrete effect, or take on a material, almost mineral appearance that pleases both sight and touch when coated with the new and innovative ecological Corkrete compound.
Mammamia Raw , the “brutalist” version of Mammamia and winner of the ADA Award 2023, lays bare and celebrates the sophisticated technical qualities of the monoblock die cast aluminum shell .
The transparent protective coating reveals, without concealment, the marks and traces of the manufacturing process, transforming them into a powerful expressive element.
